Set Me Free

(Inspired by Psalm 142:7 – Lyrics by William McRea)

Lost in the shadows, burdened and weak,
Chains of sorrow, they silence my speech.
I lift my voice to the heavens above,
Crying for mercy, longing for love.

Set me free from this prison of pain,
Let my soul rise and sing once again.
Through the darkness, Your light I see,
Oh Lord, my God, come set me free.

Winds of fear try to tear me apart,
Troubled waters flood my heart.
But in Your presence, hope remains,
Your grace will break these heavy chains.

Set me free from this prison of pain,
Let my soul rise and sing once again.
Through the darkness, Your light I see,
Oh Lord, my God, come set me free.

The righteous gather, their voices strong,
Singing of love, where I belong.
Your goodness lifts me, now I stand,
Held in the power of Your mighty hand.

Set me free from this prison of pain,
Let my soul rise and sing once again.
Through the darkness, Your light I see,
Oh Lord, my God, come set me free.

Oh Lord, my God, come set me free…
Set me free…
